Created by Kangaroos Alive in 2020 and held each year on 24 October, this day celebrates these incredible native beings - our national icon, while raising awareness about their ongoing plight across Australia.

Experts have continued to warn against the translocation of koalas yet the NSW Government chose to ignore the expert advice resulting in the tragic death of eight koalas, with some koalas showing evidence of malnourishment and emaciation.
