We lost John Daniel Campbell Newton yesterday. He was a judge, a lawyer, a lover of dogs and sailboats, as charming as hell and one of the smartest human beings I have ever encountered. I loved hanging out with him and that other brilliant lawyer, Dexter Douglass, esq. The wit flew thick and fast.
