MIT Technology Review: Each time you use AI to generate an image, write an email, or ask a chatbot a question, it comes at a cost to the planet. In fact, generating an image using a powerful AI model takes as much energy as fully charging your smartphone, according to a new study by researchers at the AI startup Hugging Face and Carnegie Mellon University. However, they found that using an AI model to generate text is significantly less energy-intensive. Creating text 1,000 times only uses as much energy as 16% of a full smartphone charge.

I *loathe* how Teams notifications work. You either pair them to Windows Notifications or their default mode. And if you're in multiple tenants, good luck NOT getting a Teams notification while you're on DND.

Not an April Fool's joke, despite the perplexing title. I'll be speaking at DoK Nordic this year. See you in May!

Oh gosh. I'm very proud to say that I'm speaking at @bctechdays.com this year. I'm a little nervous because I think it's an amazing topic, but I also know it's design pattern is brand new to me, so partly this is to see *how* it works for the broader community in the year ahead.

Please do keep in mind that all the "news" right now about Syria is talking about killings of Assad loyalists, but there are many credible reports that are NOT talking about the slaughter of many innocents in this bloodlust.

And the world is back to "No thanks" to refugees.

#msdyn365bc world help request - is there any docs/blogs about restoring a SaaS created bacpac that aren't 4+ years old and not fragments of scripts? I have the file, so the script needn't download it.

I'm really struggling to get a bacpac restored, using either in Docker SQL or Host SQL.

Sometimes people tell me I'm too nice when I disagree with people, but, I've also helped as a expert witness in cases resolving disputes.

Written is written. Tone and context are often not present.

I admit that going through how strict the rules are at Microsoft, even for people who are vendors, it is fascinating. No politician in the upper levels of the US is in compliance with those policies. When I was taking the tests, I felt it should be a bar for ballot/bench eligibility.

Big part of why I've moved this year to email aliasing. Harvest all you want, it's noise and I can just shut it off (and know who leaked it).
