Worse, you need to be extra alert when reviewing generated code because the errors they make are optimized to look maximally plausible. And to add injury to insult, tests often also have subtle errors, thereby passing when the code doesn't work, lulling you into a false sense of security.

LLMs often generate more code than a competent programmer would write to solve the same problem.
So you have to review more code with an LLM than without.
Remember, our goal is to solve problem X, not to write Y lines of code.
That speedup very much depends on how much quality you allow to sacrifice during your review.
On one end of the spectrum, you just rubber-stamp whatever the AI did. You speed up tremendously as you build an unmaintainable mess.
On the other end you're slower because you review more code.
I didn't add Rust to the tech stack of the Java shop I was at when I first learned Rust (although I ported a few things I liked to Java), instead I got a different job that had Rust from the get go.

Welp, Reddit has really done it. First fallout for me is that I no longer log into there from mobile (because the old interface loses the session way to fast, requiring me to log in again with 2FA because I'm a moderator) after a few minutes, and I'm not taking that hassle multiple times a day.
