As a sometime breezy writer, I'm here to say: It's very easy to read, but hard to do well, and it's all in the tone. "Darling—what big bombs you have!" is, uh, not it.

Beautiful story, beautifully written. Give yourself a moment to read about some good.

Clancey's is such a gem. I've been so impressed with every interaction I had with Kristin too, including the time she gently recommended a last meal when my dog Maybelle was dying of cancer. Also, she's listening to public radio on those headphones sometimes.

I want one of those egg sandwiches right now!
