31.10.2025 07:55 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0Abstract: This chapter discusses the literature with respect to the role of employers in the retirement processes of older workers and provides suggestions for future research. The first part of the chapter reviews existing theoretical insights regarding the employers’ actions and attitudes toward older workers and retirement. The next section discusses empirical findings with regard to age-related stereotypes in the workplace and age norms with respect to retirement, and presents some results from an international comparative employer study. The chapter concludes with a section on the management of retirement processes, focusing on the exit and hiring of older workers.
Together with Kène Henkens and Harry van Dalen we updated the chapter on “Managing an older workforce and retirement: The employer’s perspective” for the forthcoming second edition of the Oxford Handbook of Retirement. academic.oup.com/edited-volum....

In the age of asset manager capitalism, do asset owners still matter? And what does this mean for the green transition?
@nataschavanderzwan.bsky.social and I investigate this through an in-depth study of how some of the most important asset owners - pension funds - invest.
Now out in SER!
