I know of so many academics who did not get the message of the "there was no one left to speak for me" poem 😔

Pentru că mă întrebați: tăierea burselor elevilor eludează orice analiză cost-beneficiu, contrazice economia elementară, subminează logica instrumentală și ignoră empatia normativă. Curat lovitură de „geniu” mioritic: generează ε la buget, provocând simultan daune sociale majore.

It might not reflect the everyday lives of most people in Romania nowadays, but it might capture the essence of their most vivid memories. I could almost smell the crisp mountain air watching the first moments of this short film.

I have decided to cancel all travel to the U.S. during my sabbatical and beyond. Growing up in a communist totalitarian regime, I am sickened every day by Trump and the far right leaders he supports all over the world, and I don't want to put my institution and host institutions at various risks.

Fascism returns not as echo but as algorithm; silence greases the gears of decay. Our words are firewall, our vigilance the compass of democracy: I just signed to defend reason, truth and liberty against history’s looping ruin.
