β¨ BHM Spotlight β¨: Harold R. Boulware Sr.
Boulware Sr. was a trailblazing civil rights attorney whose legal work helped dismantle segregation in SC and across the nation. In 1969, he became the first African American appointed as an Associate Judge for the Columbia Municipal Court.
Looking up at a black arched door, yellow wall, a pair of matching clay pots with mother in law tongue, #170 has colorful tiles on the step risers.

27.02.2026 03:48 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Excited to dive into this one. It's a struggle to get adult learners to dive into a TTX where uncertainty or incomplete information are key elements of the exercise. They want the hard facts. They pick apart the scenarios. Hard to convince them that decision-making through the fog is the point!

26.02.2026 23:40 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Just started doing new data analysis and I know I keep saying this, but: I really, really don't think people appreciate how much this moral panic was a deliberate and extremely expensive invention.

26.02.2026 05:19 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Just tried this one - liked the vibes immensely, and bringing plants to life (or undeath) is quietly satisfying. The mechanics have some satisfying depth to them, and balancing to get the perfect combo of factors was fun. Worth trying if you're looking for something in the cozy, semi-idle genre.

As far as I know, farm archives have never really been used to track queer histories before. Given they mostly record the financial ongoings on a given farm, you can understand why. However, my year of research at The MERL has proved their potential.

25.02.2026 13:45 β π 243 π 39 π¬ 4 π 1All Will Rise has a great art style, excellent writing - you're a slightly unhinged lawyer in India, fighting for environmental justice against the local evil corporation. The card battling system is unique and complex, and a lot of fun to puzzle through. Hits me in the Phoenix Wrights in a good way
25.02.2026 13:33 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0What the Stars Forgot has a charming pixel art style - you're the AI in charge of a ship heading to a distant star. You have to assign crew to things that won't get them killed, deal with ship problems...and the dark horrors between the stars. I really enjoyed the demo scenario.
25.02.2026 13:30 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Have been checking out demos for Next Fest. Two I wanted to highlight: What the Stars Forgot, and All Will Rise. First is a space horror crew management game, second is...an investigative legal thriller card battler where you're taking a corp to court for murder...of a river.

I'm constantly trying (/failing) to get this point across.
If you're a trained expert in a field, then it may be worthwhile to question the scientific consensus of your peers.
If you're not, the scientific consensus is absolutely the best you can do and it's arbitrary foolishness to disregard it.
No, really, it happens all the time. We have internalized wildly authoritarian norms in this country rather than shaming the authoritarians out of polite society forever. We donβt need to live like this anymore.
24.02.2026 15:25 β π 66 π 16 π¬ 4 π 0If you're doing callout posts about artists creating fictional taboo content, you may not consider yourself a fascist, but you are one. You are their stupid tool at the bare minimum. The good news is you can stop doing that at any time

Anyway, here is my opinion:
Transphobes are trash and they are part of a fucking bully culture that harms people who have done nothing to deserve it.
Don't care who they are or how they try to position it.
Under the leadership of Dr. Reimer, the Canadian Medical Association challenged the Alberta GAC restrictions, and didnβt mince words about what it meant for doctors to follow their oaths.

21.02.2026 17:54 β π 169 π 25 π¬ 2 π 0One of the greatest deceptions of our time is the false narrative that tells us we should be more concerned about a poor person misusing the welfare system or an immigrant being here illegally than we are about the ultra wealthy abusing the system and cruel people having unchecked power over us all.

She is an older woman with white hair styled in a loose braid, smiling joyfully with her head tilted slightly upward and eyes sparkling with delight. She wears a vibrant red cardigan adorned with intricate blue-and-red patterned embroidery, a navy blue scarf or blouse underneath, and several colorful pins or medals on her lapel. Behind her is a bookshelf filled with books and papers, and a striking large circular artwork or tapestry with bright multicolored floral or mandala-like patterns in reds, yellows, blues, and oranges hangs on the wall, adding a lively, artistic backdrop to the scene. The image captures her radiant personality, intellectual warmth, and enduring passion for science. #Skystorians #AcademicSky #Physics #WomenInScience
