Snowpeel by radicalslice Snowboarding game inspired by Excitebike

Finally posted my snowboard-y Excitebike-y game that I made with #pico8. Decided in the closing days of development that it needed a minimap and pseudo-achievements, so no doubt I broke something, but it's going out the door anyway! Early thoughts: dialing in eye distance / screen size settings takes a little doing, not sure I've fully got it yet. Teleroboxer is hard as heck. Red Alarm is somehow cooler than I remember? And Wario is immediately charming. Looking forward to many more awkward kitchen table gaming sessions

The timing of angling your board gets interesting when you're landing on an uphill slope. Wanted to include a level with lots of uphill bits so the player get the change to mess with it a little. Called it "Improbable". #pico8 #gamedev

Still working my way through the last few Playdate Season 1 games, and got to Saturday Edition. Holy hell, what a game. Story and mood really grabbed me, loved the sound design, loved how the pace and intensity ramp up towards the end. One of my faves from S1 for sure.

Made a "snow is melting, grass everywhere" level for the snowboarding game. Stoked with how ragged the grassy edges turned out. Got a dev video almost ready on all the changes I had to make to the level parser to make this work too, gonna be a code-heavy one
