I've filtered Ottawa's traffic collision data to show only collisions with injuries for each year, and then added the speed camera locations present in those years.

It looks like speed cameras have made the roads much safer.

There are two speed cameras on Walkley Rd between Bank and St Laurent that were installed in 2024. In 2022 that stretch of Walkley had 34 collisions with injuries. In 2024, after the cameras were turned on, there were just 4 collisions with injuries. Speed cameras work.

But of course, we have to shake this notion, and arguably, doctrine - that transit is only for the poor, or more nobly, transit is for the commuter

When Transit becomes ubiquitous, people will drop their cars. It's been shown over and over and over and over again.

So let's get as close as we can.

OSEG have not made a profit in 2.0 and claim they need another $400 million to fix critical mistakes in 2.0, such as not putting a roof over the stand.

It’s a predictable pattern. Suburban and rural (mainly) voted to spend more, get less, align themselves with private interest to fund a project that doesn’t affect them, delivering lower value at the expense of urban quality of life and wrecking women’s pro hockey in the capital.

Tremendous to hear some veteran Ottawa city councillors argue that Lansdowne 2.0 is needed because the previous overhaul that they voted for is crap.

That time biking along the canal when I encountered 2 bikes with blinking red lights and one whose rear light was broken so they used a blinking white front lamp as a rear light.

I’d like to save the Ford Government of Ontario $9 million dollars of the public’s money.

Lansdowne 2.0 is not what residents are telling us we need as a city. The cost is too much, the outcome too inadequate and uncertain, and the benefits accrue to too few. This morning's rally was energizing. We have an off-ramp; we should take it.

I have not received a response from my councilor to an email sent on 31st December.
Pretty sure that said councilor will vote for this dodgy deal.

I am buoyed by the community who stood in the cold to say they don’t support Lansdowne 2.0. Ottawa deserves better, and so do women’s hockey fans. There is no stadium emergency. This plan is built on financial fiction and my grandkids will still be paying for it. I will vote no with my whole heart.
