Flashback to playing Renfield in a stage production of "Dracula," where I got to drink rat blood, escape from a gimmicked straitjacket, stab someone with a lobotomy probe, and generally chew the scenery in any way I could imagine.

Great insight in an audition workshop today that I want to tattoo on my brain because it articulates something essential in a really simple way and applies to both film and VO:

"If you play back your audition and can imagine anybody else doing what you did, you didn't put enough work in."

I grew up with major food sensitivity during an age when people were ignorant about its causes, I was just the "picky eater" who made life difficult for others. It's been a lifelong process expanding my palate, but holy shirt when I find a food I love now I LOOOOOOVE it. Life's too short not to.

The shameful answer is that my favorite is usually whichever one I'm eating right now. Shredded beef always hits. Today I'm having one with "Shredded oven-roasted pork marinated with smoked BBQ sauce, diced pineapple, onions and bell pepper." plus a vegan one with spinach/corn/mushroom.

None of us expected that we'd have to expose ourselves to malice and abuse in order to stand up for some rights and ethics within the profession we love. Thank you for your voice, your resilience, and the courage to be passionately imperfect. We need more of it.

During our Disneyland trip, my nephew kindly asked me if I was having any fun. I told him that, for grownups, helping kids have fun is a kind of fun. He looked at me like that was the dumbest thing he'd ever heard.

The final tally after two days of helping my sister take her 9-year old and 5-year old through Disneyland and California Adventure. Fitbit's calorie count doesn't factor in the miles when I was carrying the 5-year old. Hope we made some good memories for them. Excuse me while I pass out.

The fact that Satay previously appeared in the pilot presentation for 2015's "The Muppets" along with a group of obscure Muppets pleading to be involved, not getting to speak, and then those Muppets actually not making it into the series, elevates the gag to genius-tier.

I mean, I definitely see the path to his becoming a regular (and hard agree that the hat is a genius touch,) as long as they expand the role he serves with the troupe and it isn't just this bit repeated.

Finally watched the new "Muppet Show" and A) did not expect the closing Statler & Waldorf gag to go that dark, and B) retire Satay the Muppet now, he'll never top this moment, let his legend grow.

My 5 year-old niece asked to play a videogame with me so I fired up Steam and she immediately started impersonating a streamer: "ok guys today we're playing the game 'SONIC GAME' this is a different game ok 3-2-1 GO!"

I love "Wonder Man"'s fidelity to the utter strangeness of the Hollywood grind. Like, yeah, I can imagine a day where my apartment is too trashed for a self-tape so I go out to a taping service which wastes my time/money, then wind up driving to Malibu and having a weird random celebrity run-in.
