But when writing is a 10 minute burst that always produces 200 words, procrastinating for ten minutes means I lose 200 words that would have otherwise been mine.

When 'writing' is this big two-hour block that I shove in somewhere, it feels like no big loss to scroll bsky for ten minutes, because I'm just delaying starting the big chunk

If I were to maintain this (relatively light, not dedicating whole chunks and days to writing) work pace, I'd be releasing approximately one Maidens Part 1 every three months, a considerable jump from my current pace.

This workflow is not noticeably slower or less productive than when I'm actually in-the-zone, and is actually able to produce viable wordcount from times and moods that would otherwise be completely unproductive.

(So, if I redo a section 4 times, I only need a six or higher to move on)

Workflow is: set a word counter for 200 words and a timer for 12 minutes. Hit the word target at any cost, save, and have the next word counter ready to go before 12 minutes are up. Grade out of ten, if its less than nine, redo that section, minus one point for every attempt.

So far, my new writing workflow is extremely *consistent,* averaging around 400 words per day.
