Our Science Fiction book club recently read A Memory Called Empire by Arkady Martine.

They said "This was a diplomatic space drama with very strong characters and worldbuilding. Everyone was very impressed."

Good morning Bluesky, what is everyone #reading today? I have just finished Project Hail Mary by Andy Weir, read by Ray Porter.

If you've read The Martian then this is a similar style, science fiction with lots of problems solved by thinking and scientific experiments. Very enjoyable

Our Science Fiction book club members enjoyed Of Ants and Dinosaurs by Cixin Liu. It was a short, easy-to-read novel full of wonderful ideas and images.

Some felt it was weak on character but still enjoyed it.

Interesting report from CBI about children's #reading for pleasure in Ireland, has both positive and negatives like all reports.

No mention of visiting libraries, or borrowing library books though. If you are a parent/care-giver do you take children to the library? Could we make it easier for you?
