Here in Atlanta yesterday, more than 2,000 people waited in their cars—one woman for 14 hours—for a box of food. The giveaway ended early; there wasn't enough to go around.

Multiply this scene by countless others across the country, and you get a sense of how crushing the desperation is right now.

I, for some reason, am not one of them 🤣

I feel like if I ever used AI to "help" with my writing it'd remove most of the personality from my stories (like my recent issue of dialogue making characters sound more human)

I had an interesting conversation with someone who read my newest crossover chapter: there is a married couple who were having banter and the reader commented that surely they'd be being a bit more professional?

To me having them have friendly banter, even in a war room, feels a bit more human

I'm writing a crossover (which, odds are, no-one other than me will ever get to read) and I just wrote one of those moments where a character essentially goes "What's the worst that could happen?"

...and then they find out the answer to said question

It's another example of that bizarre attitude where people think the only "correct" way to play a game is their way

Fun bit of book trivia: when I was trying to figure out what I wanted the Enigma cover to look like, I briefly considered featuring three characters on the cover...then I realized that sounded a bit too much like I was ripping off my first book's cover.
