We went therapy shopping yesterday and bought a couple of new pet beds for Max

Our sweet little Missy went over the rainbow bridge Monday night. We're heartbroken, and the house feels a little emptier but grateful for the time that we had together.

I used to wonder what line could be crossed that would make people stop supporting this asshole and his whole fascist court. I think, maybe, there is no line.

I'll take a look. It's weird to me that the closest comics shop I've found is an hour away, literally over a mountain and through the woods. Makes it hard to just run to the shop to pick some books up and chat.

I think that's where I'm getting stuck with IRL friends. I work and go to school remotely, so none of them are nearby.

I have no idea how else to make local IRL friends outside of bars and clubs, which I don't do.

Question for all the middle aged nerdy introverts out there. How and where do you find friends that doesn't involve hanging out at bars or becoming an extrovert?

I'm grateful for what I have, and I don't regret moving. There are people out there in much worse places than me right now, but I think I just miss people and things.

I'm having a case of the sads today. Both my parents, all my grandparents, and my ex are dead. I have no siblings. I have no friends or family (other than my kids who live with me) close enough to just hang out for lunch or whatever. I have a very sick cat.

I feel like I've lost all creative energy. I see things thinking "that would make an interesting drawing" but then have no desire to pick up a pencil or stylus to draw it. I don't even want to bake cookies or craft anything. Is it perimenopause or everything else?

When my ex was in the ICU with multi-organ failure, he tried to convince our kids to remove his compression boots because he was convinced they were on him so that he couldn't get up and walk out of the hospital. It was heartbreaking

I'm so sorry. It's so hard when you know it's the best and safest place for them, but they're not able to understand why you can't just take them home. Dementia is a monster.
