The crystal clear, turquoise water of Upper Joffre Lake sits below a small stream fed by the retreating Matier Glacier above it. Rocks can be seen below the water's surface. The rocky shore of the lake has evergreen trees growing in it, their reflections can be seen in the still water. There is blue sky, occasionally make itself visible through the moving mist.

I took a photo of this tree in early October when it had its full autumn colours and was pleasantly surprised yesterday to see it like this. The sun was shining yesterday casting long shadows on the lime green grass. No clouds were to be seen. I love the circles of autumn leaves around the bottom of the trees.

Yesterday at Petworth this beautiful acer tree was very pleased with itself for being the last tree there to still be holding on to its autumn leaves.

Winter sunlight shining on a lake with gentle mist rising and an elegant bridge spanning the water.

Yesterday was cold, frosty and sunny so I took Bella for a bonus outing round part of the Skyline Walk and back via Prior Park. The light was extraordinary there - next time I'll bypass the big hill and go straight there for photos and coffee. Have a good day! xx

At West Harefield, the Grand Union Canal looking south to Coppermill Lock. On the left is the Long Room and wharf, a cul de sac. Trees reflect in the pool ahead. Towards the right are the lock gates and a boat is in the lock. Further right can be seen the chimneys of the lock keeper's cottage, some strolling figures and illuminated smoke rising behind. Trees cast shadows on the towpath in front.

A row of rocks separates Bay Beach, a public portion of Crystal Beach's shoreline, from the portion exclusively for waterfront cottage owners. A terrible arrangement that's been allowed for over a century, however nobody was around to shoo me away that day. Dramatic clouds, freezing water, sand and snow drifts are seen here, too.
