SSA never sent me the summary of benefits that they are supposed to send for tax purposes. (Last year I got it in February.) Fortunately, I was able to log into the SSA website last week and download it. I don't know if I could do it this week!

A third term would require a constitutional amendment. Two-term limit is in the constitution.

Constitutional amendments require a 2/3 vote from both houses of Congress, plus approval from 3/4 of the state legislatures.

No way it would get that kind of vote.

Most of them voted against any civil rights legislation. But that changed after the passage of the 1964 and 1965 acts, when Republicans started to replace the Democrats in the South. Johnson famously said, after signing the 1964 act, "we'll lose the South." He was right -- he signed it anyway.

There was no civil rights legislation in the 50s or 60s that ALL Democrats voted against. But remember that the Democratic Party was much different then. Most of the Southern states had Democratic Representatives and Senators -- the DixieCrats.
