One of the upsides (and downsides) of trainee life. Lots of watching, pondering, but everyone too busy to ponder much with you...

These practices are ubiquitous across the fundamentalist evangelical world. We need to talk about Christian extremism.

It's a tough one, balancing values with pragmatism, hey. Sometimes we have to suck up some data shmata, but hold true to what you know is the good stuff. Not everyone will get it. That doesn't mean you're wrong.

Too often, clinicians reduce everything to the BPD lens:

- Pain relief? Drug-seeking.
- Angry at injustice? Emotional dysregulation.
- Shuts down? Stonewalling.
- Has needs? Attention-seeking.

This isn’t diagnosis—it’s interpretive violence.

I think showing people what resistance can look like in the ordinary can make it feel less shame-laden. Who have I stood up for today? Who have I extended compassion to today? What have I not let go unsaid today?

Breathing with the trees this afternoon. When everything feels heightened and urgent, the place of stillness and ease is where I find the clarity, wisdom & pragmatism needed to crack on. The world tries to rush our feet from under us but we don't have to be swept along.
