Post from Israel’s deputy foreign minister Sharren Haskel reads: β€œYesterday I briefed representatives of the Canadian political leadership mission to Israel and made it clear: this is a moment of truth for the West.
You can't fight terror worldwide while expecting
Israel not to defend itself.
Recognising a Palestinian state while Hamas still holds hostages only strengthens the terrorists. It sends completely the wrong message.
As someone born in Canada, I also raised the alarming rise in antisemitism there - Jews afraid to wear a Star of David in public. That should concern everyone.
My message was simple: now is the time for clarity and courage. Stand with Israel and stand with our shared values.

Pardon me??

Ben Mulroney, host of Global News’ flagship political Sunday show, and prominent journalist Steve Paikin are both in Israel getting a briefing from the Israeli government???

What the absolute fuck, dude.

We have created a device that shall be integral to your life, to the point where it will be hard to function in society without one; we would prefer these devices to break annually and for you to purchase a new one at full price. If you don't, that's called hoarding. They're a thousand dollars each.

More than a few times when the name has come up I've thought to myself, that's funny, I should check into this, and then I'm immediately forget. Today I was edited a news about him and thought, god dammit this time FOR REAL, and holy shit, it really is him!

Yes, HID headlights are very bright but the bigger problem is the proliferation of gargantuan vehicles with 5’+ hood heights so that if you’re driving a normal sized car their headlights are at your eye level rather than seat level like they’re supposed to be.

Semafor article
There’s a recurring trap in how we analyze Saudi Arabia’s monarchs: focusing on too narrow a timeframe. Nowhere is that clearer than in the debate over Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. The murder of columnist Jamal Khashoggi will likely follow him forever in the Western press, as was evident during his Washington visit last week. But that’s not the metric by which his subjects will judge a reign that could stretch across half a century.

Journalists tend to like tidy narratives, and early impressions often stick. When his father became king in 2015, Prince Mohammed was portrayed as impulsive β€” launching a war in Yemen, dragging the country into tiffs with Canada and Germany, and famously cracking down on fellow princes and billionaires

There's a lot of things you can criticize western journalism for, but I'm not sure "remembering this guy had a journalist murdered and started a war" is one of them

Ford tells protesters to 'go find a job' as controversial housing bill passes at Queen's Park | CBC News Shouts and chants rained down upon politicians at the Ontario legislature Monday as the government passed a housing bill that critics say makes it easier for landlords to evict tenants.

I really try to make jokes and find fun ways to spin terrible news on here, but I read this and the only thing I have to say about it is that Doug Ford is a piece of shit who shouldn't be running an Arby's, let alone a province. Fuck you, Doug. share.google/gPPqvtiuqD0O...

I’m thinking that US voters being β€œfurious about prices” when Trump’s fascist regime are attacking democracy, human rights, the environment & climate, public health, the global economy, the sovereignty of nations, a sane world order, and more, may be why the world will never trust U.S. voters again.

Not really seeing anything, just hate it as a matter of principle, and the way it turns websites into unreadable shit. I get way it's 'necessary' for websites to chase the money but it's sickening that this is what we've chosen.

Shopify rocked by sales fraud scandal that led to ultimatums and firings - The Logic Shopify salespeople were inflating the value of the deals they were closing. When management found out, they told staff to own up or face the consequences.

This is who Carney outsourced his innovation policy development to.
