I have a lot of charts on my web pages, and have a "Download as PNG" link for good resolution, but folks often just take a screenshot.
I've now added a "Copy to clipboard" link that will ensure that you have a high-resolution version that you can paste directly into BlueSky 😊

I am coming around to why MCP is so impressive.
For one of my side projects, I used to have to log onto my database admin (PgAdmin) to query stuff.
I connected an MCP server to Postgres and can "talk" with my database (and data!)
An uplevel in my productivity + ease of work.

HOYGAN!

I'm looking for a serious critical review of Dreyfus' stance in What Computers Can’t Do, notably, his claim that AI could never fully implement a model of substances, properties, and relations. Any recommendations? Thanks

Alignment faking in large language models
A paper from Anthropic's Alignment Science team on Alignment Faking in AI large language models
I can’t tell if researchers still believe this stuff or if they are “alignment faking faking,” but the examples they give in this paper are totally explainable as a result of token prediction, as always, because that is what these machines are and always will be. www.anthropic.com/research/ali...

Really liking Cursor so far. My job purchased for me and honestly it’s been really convenient having the tab follow-up, composer and the local file context that is shared in the git repo.
Pretty neat. Wouldn’t pay it myself for personal stuff though.

Cursor really tempts me away from PyCharm, which has always been my regular. Being able to see the AI-produced code as a diff and accept/reject parts of it feels so much better than a 'wholesale insert' or 'copy, paste, delete' flow. Model/context also seems good

Cursor.
The Cursor Tab feature is pretty killer. Takes AI autocomplete to the next level.
It usually works really well when I’m making a small change. It predicts what I’m doing and makes sure I don’t miss any spots.

VSCode + Sourcegraph Cody.
You can choose the model you want to sue, host your own, and has strong guarantees about prompt retention from outside providers.
Also GraphRAG on each project for better retrieval is noticeably higher quality than competitors.

Cursor. The UX is amazing. It's on top of VS code, so it doesn't feel like a new IDE.
Model switching helps me try different models. The different interfaces - chat, Cmd + k, and autocomplete each serve very distinct use case and they feel natural.
Their diff is the standout feature for me

m using Cursor mostly because it feels well integrated with my regular coding workflow.
In-line edits can be done easily without using mouse, for larger chunks you have friendly multi-file edits.
Also their recent acquisition gives me high hopes for even better quality of the AI output.

A magazine ad showing the Hyper7. It's a dedicated word processor all-in-one, with a PS/2 keyboard, a monochrome backlit LCD monitor device left, twin vertically mounted 3.5" floppies device right, and a thermal printer device rear. The screen on the device shows a multi-application operating system, including word processor, spreadsheet, rolodex, drawing program, graphing program, disk utility, telecommunications terminal, and tutorial. The only thing it's lacking is a way to program on the thing.
