Haven’t painted in quite some time. Picking back up with some Sons of Horus Legions Imperialis. I’m drawn to the tiny scale but it’s definitely different to paint.

Looking fantastic! There are so many little details on this model, I find it a bit intimidating. Great work!

While I might be partial for frogs, I’d like to propose armadillos.

Painted up version of the frog friend I made in Blender a couple of months ago. Definitely a learning process. Some of the details I fiddled over were way too tiny to come out in the print. Definitely a fun little project.

Closer views of some of the detailed. Spent quite a bit of time building that shrine (modeled the candles myself), buried some long fallen folks in the dirt, and made some rusty metal for the trench sides. This was a big project but I had a lot of fun.

Overall picture of the Trench Crusade diorama. Intended to be a view into a trench with some of the units up on either side and some in the trench. On the left, the Alchemist stands behind some sandbags by a tree. In the trench an Azeb stands by a shrine. In the middle, an Azeb stands in back while the Lion of Jabir stands near the Sapper. The walls are rusted sheet metal with some wooden supports to keep it tighter. On the right, two more Azebs stand by a tree with the Captain overlooking the trench.

With that Trench Crusade warband made up for a friend, I thought it should have a display. I’ve never made one before. Only did a bit of basing before. These were taken before I enclosed it all in a case, which had a handy door in front in case they pulled the models out to play.

Lion of Janie for the Iron Sultanate in Trench Crusade. Initially I was the most intimidated by this model but I think it was easier to put together than feared. Enjoyed painting up the skin. Did a purple oil wash to help things, which was nice change from black washes.

Ah! Right, how silly of me. It's completely the head wear that sets folks apart! But totally see your point about loading up more equipment. A good kitbash project for another time!

Iron Sultanate Alchemist for Trench Crusade. This had the most noticeable printing error. There was a visible shift and lines in the skirt. At a recommendation from my partner, I leaned into it and made it an orange stripe. I think it came out acceptable.

Can definitely relate to the feeling that it’s all been done before by people with amazing skills. There is a lot of appeal of making something different and your own.

It wasn’t a very scientific process. More just asking them if they had trouble between different colors. I just needed a couple that would stand out. But there is probably a better way to build a good palette for different types of color blindness.

Part of a project for a friend who showed a passing interest in Trench Crusade and the Iron Sultanates. This is one of the Azeb troops. Said friend is a bit color blind, so picked things that would stand out to them.
