These first days were intense and energising, helping the Advisors connect with each other, SAPEA, and the Secretariat. Why does this matter? When science and policy connect well, it benefits us all. Stay tuned as we’ll share more soon about how their work is shaping the future.

Over two days, they explored how this advice reaches European Commissioners and how to keep it relevant for policy while rooted in the best available science. Together with SAPEA, which provides evidence reviews, they’re building the foundations for the decisions that shape our daily lives.

A new Group of Chief Scientific Advisors has just started their journey in Brussels, stepping into their role within the EU’s Scientific Advice Mechanism. Their mission? To ensure that EU policy decisions are backed by transparent, independent, evidence-based scientific advice. #scienceadvice
