These sessions are also hybrid on Zoom. We’ll discuss the concepts of colonialism, Palestine liberation, queerness, imperialism and much more. Join us for an evening of creation, reflection and community. We will be finishing our remembrance quilt. All materials and instruction will be provided to make your own quilt square and join the squares together. There will also be space for conversation, story telling and poetry reading.

Transgender Day of Remembrance is an important holiday where we remember the lives of Transgender people across the world that we have lost. On this day we will gather, create, and assemble a quilt together.

All skill levels are welcome. Attendees are encouraged to work at their own pace. All materials will be provided.

Session 1 - 10/21 We’ll work on -designing a quilt square -choosing fabric -measuring fabric -cutting fabric Session 2 - 11/4 We’ll work on -quilt square layout -pinning -hand stitching Session 3 - 11/18 We’ll work on -adding detail -finishing our squares

Our goal is to create a quilt together honoring trans lives cut short, remembering icons from trans history and celebrating trans existence. We’ll work on individual squares at these Saturday meetings and we’ll connect them into a full quilt at our Trans Day of Remembrance event (more details coming soon). Hope to see you there!
