The T-shirt worn by MP Lisa Nandy at Wigan Pride has upset members of a Labour campaign group A campaign group for the rights of gay and bisexual people has written an open letter to MP Lisa Nandy following her appearance at Wigan Pride.

Wigan News published our open letter to @lisanandy but ‘declined to comment’ . So the voters of her constituency will be left wondering why she chose to wear such an offensive garment.

Schools should ground young people in truth and reality. No teacher should be teaching contested ideas as if they were factual.

We welcome this excellent guidance from Bridget Phillipson, which makes it clear that the contested concept of "Gender Identity" doesn't belong in the classroom.

As Labour Party members, we are concerned that an affiliated socialist society is considering breaking the law by appointing a male into a position reserved for women. We are asking LGBT+ Labour to tell us whether they believe this is permissible. @LGBTLabour @UKLabour

In our zeal to celebrate our LGB pride, we concentrated on people but left out one very important organisation. This is, of course, For Women Scotland. With persistence and tenacity, FWS changed the legal landscape with their Supreme Court victory. We salute you! @ForWomenScot

So the 'Pride' month of June is finally over. Now it's time to reclaim Pride for us - the one's who started it - the Lesbian, Gays and Bisexuals who stood up first to be counted. The LGB fight continues today. Here we are - and allies too.

As we near the end of Pride month, let's celebrate the real stars for their commitment and their achievements. Here is a list of those who have stood up to be counted, some campaigning in the background, but all who have taken pride in our re-emerging LGB community. 👏👏👏

We are concerned about the proposed Conversion Practices Bill. LGB people were not named once in the Bill’s announcement. The Bill is seriously flawed due to the conflict of interests between LGB and TQ+. Including Trans results in LGB conversion to the opposite sex.

And so ends #LGBHistory month for 2025. We have done a service and disservice. A service in shining a light on LGB people who should be seen, admired, appreciated. A disservice as the light is not bright enough. Be amazed and impressed by our community. But most of all, go and live your life too!
