Video appears to show U.S. cruise missile striking Iranian school compound The seven-second video was released by Iranian state media and directly contradicts statements made by President Trump, who said Iran was responsible for the strike.

Bellingcat, CNN, the New York Times, and NPR have all independently concluded that a US cruise missile struck an Iranian girls' school, killing more than 160 people — the majority of them students.

Asked by a reporter whether that was true, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth said, “We’re certainly investigating. But the only side that targets civilians is Iran."

The New York Times analysis came to the same conclusion as Bellingcat's and CNN's.

On Saturday, Trump cast blame upon Iran for the Minab strike, contradicting analyses from CNN and other media outlets.

“Based on what I’ve seen, that was done by Iran,” Trump told reporters aboard Air Force One.
