I don't remember people saying that. I remember them saying they'd turned on trump, although that seems not particularly true, either.

I'm for anything that's bad for Kristi Noem. At the same time, I really prefer to keep my shoes on at the airport.

Is a draft of an email from client to a lawyer privileged? Does it matter if the email was ultimately sent or not?

Sela. The PIF entity is called Sela. It's on the bottom of the poster on the right.

He's not. It's being promoted by Ring Magazine and one of the Saudi Wealth fund entertainment entities (not Zuffa boxing, though)

I don’t think there’s a formal title for the guy getting blow jobs from the president

I am, but I'm pretty sure they aren't going to seat democratic congresspeople from California

Fight promotion poster for Usyk v. Verhoeven at Giza, Egypt, showing two ancient boxers competing in a style very generally referencing ancient Egyptian art and style, but probably way more stereotyping than anything else, really.

There's probably all kinds of good reasons to not think this is cool. But it is cool.

it seems clear the intent is to not recognize the validity of any election that they don't like the result of if it does not comply with these rules, and ignore any court order telling them they can't do it (or they make sure they get the Supreme Court votes).

it appears each person has to re-register IN PERSON if they want to vote THIS YEAR, although that only applies to the 2026 United States election, which is not defined in the EO and is technically not a thing that exists.

(c)(IV) says non-military/non-gov't employees living abroad can vote (only) in presidential elections, but it also seems to disqualify them from voting in any state in such elections b/c they're treated as either a foreign resident or a DC resident

If you're temporarily residing at an address that's not your own, you can vote "absentee." Swap houses with a friend for a night and you qualify!

This has to have been done by a rogue employee.

I assume they've already distributed the tariffs for bribes, kickbacks, hiring people to make threats, and to themselves.

I also don't get why Cal is out and SMU a 10 seed. Cal had a better record, same conference record, just won head-to-head, and have equivalent SOSs.

This just is not a serious attempt at picking teams.

27.02.2026 18:11 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

Actually, it reminds me a little of the year Mack Brown changed his vote to take Cal out of the Rose Bowl. Cal probably DID deserve the lower ranking, but only b/c they probably deserved it all year, not suddenly at the last minute based on no change in facts.

But Bracketology is clearly not a serious exercise, at least not at the "last four in" and "first four out" level.

27.02.2026 18:08 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

I don't think Cal will make the NCAA tournament, short of winning out (or maybe 2-1) then winning an ACC tourney game or 2. Short of that, they'll be on the bubble (as they were even when they were "in"), and some tournament winner will knock them out.

27.02.2026 18:08 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

Bracketology is a joke. Two week ago, Cal was a "last four in." They have gone 2-0 since then, but been "out" for each of the last two weeks. It seems clear he puts effort into ranking about the top four and picks the borderline at-larges at random.

"Not one authoritarian has been stopped by peaceful protest or voting." Also, this isn't true. Gorbachev is the most prominent example, but there are others.

I still think it's likely we now live in an authoritarian state until we have a revolution, but there are absolutely counter-examples.

27.02.2026 18:00 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 2    πŸ“Œ 0

Authoritarians respond to violence with violence and consolidating power-that's actual history. Violence in response to the authoritarian will inevitably produces this response because authoritarians are bad people desperately trying to keep power.

But it's still the logical response, as I said.
