I also don't get why Cal is out and SMU a 10 seed. Cal had a better record, same conference record, just won head-to-head, and have equivalent SOSs.

I don't think Cal will make the NCAA tournament, short of winning out (or maybe 2-1) then winning an ACC tourney game or 2. Short of that, they'll be on the bubble (as they were even when they were "in"), and some tournament winner will knock them out.

Authoritarians respond to violence with violence and consolidating power-that's actual history. Violence in response to the authoritarian will inevitably produces this response because authoritarians are bad people desperately trying to keep power.

But it's still the logical response, as I said.
