It’s national Hare day and so here is the book which started a whole, beautiful series for me. Through fact-inspired poetry and incredible art from Anastasia Izlesou, the books show children the wonder of biodiversity and adaptation

In case you’re just waking up, the U.S. has teamed up with Israel overnight to start an illegal war of regime change, apparently on a presidential whim with no involvement of Congress, and they are already committing horrific atrocities.

Same. Just a few weeks ago I was in the Northumberland national dark sky park and it was an experience I want everyone to have

I’m watching The Bluff. I love pirate shows and can be quite unreasonably forgiving of them. Though Black Sails needs no forgiveness, or quarter. It remains one of the best shows ever

Abandon this modern age and live in the wilds with just a spear and a bowl made from a human skull

I hope this helps

The night sky is ours. All of ours. Our children’s. Their children’s. We should be doing more to preserve the view of the stars for all. We give this up for some ludicrous to churn out wasteful nonsense to feed rich maniacs’ grift, it’s not coming back…

Watching a Russo bro film makes me sad. They are budget managers. All that money and nothing to say. It’s as though they sit in a library and organise the books in order of height. Such a shame

Poetry Pizza by Simon Mole (illustrated by Tom McLaughlin) is a glorious collection of poems for children. Funny, heartwarming, thoughtful and cleverly written. This will be a major player in our Poem of the Day slot over the next few months. Would work well across KS2. @otterbarrybooks.bsky.social

I was lucky enough to be in Northumberland on Friday night, looking at the clearest, darkest sky I’ve ever seen. This photo shows Jupiter (bright and top left) as well as Orion (zoom in on the belt and below that see the sword - the middle patch of light is a nebula). Taurus > is also visible
