Replaced our oven heating element this morning after it burned out last week, and I feel so handy and productive. Was surprisingly pretty easy and straightforward.

The baguette outfits (Lune's in particular) are just so fabulous that I couldn't resist cosplaying her at Otakuthon this year.

The first week back at work after a vacation is always rough, but this has been an especially tough week back. I simultaneously can't wait for it to be over so I can go back to not working 10hr days, but also don't want it to end because there's so much left to do before the end of the month 😭

- All 3 shoots I had this year were lovely! I'm glad I've found a set of photogs that go to Otakuthon consistently that I like shooting with and I'm glad my hubby had a fun first shoot experience! ❤️

- Lune was generally pretty comfy on Sunday but I'm gonna aim to go back to 2 cosplays next year. I like having my Sundays be slow, no stress, cosplay free days. Cosplaying on Sunday defs didn't help my overall exhaustion levels.

(16/19) My cosplay thoughts and takeaways for the year:

- I need to stay away from charas with heels over 2.5". I thought I could tough out heels for Tribios and even brought flats to change in and out of but my legs and feet were so destroyed by Friday evening.

-I found out that some guests charged $100 for autographs which blew my mind. I know this is common practice at ComicCon/more corpa events, but it's always been free even for larger guests at Otakuthon in my experience. I guess it's just been a long time since I've gotten a guest's autograph?

(14/19) I don't understand putting the Kinton booth at the end of the VG room. It's so out of the way and was also hella expensive. A friend bought one of their mini ramens & it was not worth it. In their words, it did not make them want to visit Kinton in the future but actually did the opposite.

- The new video game space was really cool. Not sure how people who actually use the space felt but as someone who just walked through it, it was super neat and it was so nice and quiet. A good break from the overstimulation of the rest of the con.

- Loved that they moved bag check to the back of the con center. I've always hated having to go through Viger hall in the middle of the day to change out of cosplay.

- Really appreciated the move of the concerts to Place des Arts not only for circulation reasons but also because it was assigned seating. It made the whole concert going experience less stressful/take up less of the day (with having to line up early) which was wonderful.

- I like how they reorganized the layout / use of space across the convention center. Generally speaking, I didn't feel like a sardine going from place to place the same way as in previous years. Moving the concerts to Place des Arts defs helped that.

(9/19) Some general thoughts about the con:
- There was so much Kpop Demon Hunters (cosplay and art). Defs not complaining but am just shocked at how fast people are able to churn stuff out

- On the flipside, I was kinda surprised at how little Expedition 33 stuff there was in AA in comparison

(8/19) After my shoot, did a last run of Artist's Alley before heading out for our Sunday Korean BBQ lunch tradition. Finished the con off with SungWon's elevator pitch panel which was quite entertaining before heading home.

(7/19) Sunday was a bit of a whirlwind. Had a shoot at 9am so the morning made getting ready in the morning a bit chaotic. Wish I'd had more time in the morning to prep as I realized belatedly that I'd put parts of the cosplay on wrong. 😔

(6/19) Our group all went to the Spyair concert which was a blast. Loved that it was at Place des Arts this year. The group had so much energy and their crowd work was great!

(5/?) Saturday I got to do my first couples cosplay with my hubby! ❤️ It was hella hot out but he was a trooper. His takeaway from the experience was that he abhors bangs and doesn't understand how people can chose to have them. 😂

(4/?) Friday was mostly spent going through artist's alley and part of merch. I don't know why it took us so long to get through all of it. Was it bigger than other years? Or were we just slow? I legit am not sure which of the two it was lol.

(3/?) Switched up our resto choices on Fri and Sat that ended up being big hits with our group. They're defs gonna be added to our rotation of food places for the con for the foreseeable future.

(2/?) I feel like overall I didn't do a huge amount this year compared to other recent years but I had a fantastic time!

Got to see and hang out with a friend I haven't gone to a con with in almost a decade. I was so happy she could make it this year!! 😭

(1/?) Another year, another heatwave, another Otakuthon come and gone. Was I better about posting progress cosplay pics this year? Not really. But at least I'm always on top of my post con rambles 😂

Ah yes, nothing like dropping some fresh hot glue gun glue on bare skin. I've had an ice pack on it for an hour and it's started to blister 🥲
