Because immigration judges are backed up, he was awaiting a trail where he would apply for formal asylum and be allowed to stay here legally.

A shutdown also gives Democrats a chance to actually negotiate. Listen to your base we need real leadership and the people are speaking.

If someone refuses to take down obviously fake information, there should be heavy consequnces. The damage that this type of dishonesty has done in our society and relationship to truth is immense. Being accidently wrong is one thing, but knowing spreading false info should result in some kind of ban
