NYCC-bound tomorrow!! Just normal Loki packing things 🤣

Oh I misread! I saw “foot pedal” and my brain went “presser foot” haha. I have a knee lift for the presser foot which is a game changer for keeping both hands on the fabric when moving stuff around; I’ve never tried a knee pedal for foot pedal and now I am SO curious how it feels 🤔

Knee pedals are THE BEST ahhh! My work Juki has one and I can’t live without it anymore.

I will also have my Galadriel Lindon gown on display as part of the judges’ exhibit! So if you ever wanted to see some antique assuit fabric in person, this is your chance 😏

Because I am guesting, my Saturday and Sunday are pretty full up, but I hope to see the con on Thursday and Friday. I’ll be bringing Vax, Loki, and Galadriel.

Hi friends! This is my projected NYCC lineup and schedule!

I am SO excited to be one of the judges for this year’s Crown Qualifier, alongside @mayjeanw and @sayakatcosplay! I cannot wait to see all the incredible costumes up close; everyone at this comp brings their absolute A-game!

There’s something… predictable, about the fact that when I go to block people shitting on Rings of Power, there is a high chance of the profile saying “wife and mother” or “husband and father” because of course the white Christian nationists hate this show 🙄

I did SO much beading on this one! 😍

Answer: Nope! This gown is made from synthetic materials (nylon lace and polyesterter satin underlayer) which are very easy to handwash. After this shoot, I just handwashed the skirt and sleeves in some detergent and bleach and it was back to new! Once I picked all the leaves off from the woods 😂

And “what if Galadriel’s mirror was an entire waterfall pool?” 👀

These shots are some of my favourite of this costume, and the biggest question I always get is “didn’t you ruin the dress??” ➡️

Loki scale casting my old friend!

I have to make about 250 of these for my remake of the Dark World pants. Thankfully I’m just casting in thibra which is easy, just takes a lot of time. Halfway there!

Then I gotta trim the edges (comparison in second pic), paint, and attach to the pants panels.

Imagine being this fragile about someone dressing up for fun, geez 🙄😆

It was a massive pain to pattern because video games 🤣 but I love how it turned out!

I will probably not be bringing Astarion to NYCC as he is a LOT to wear, but I feel like he’s had plenty of con outings the past year! Just gotta do a location shoot now since I still only have con pics!

I’m still absolutely thrilled with the whole silhouette (pun intended) of this costume and the play of different textures throughout. Adding the boots and pauldrons really raised it up a notch IMO!

I think it's interesting that so many folks view any close or intense relationship between fictional characters where strong feelings are dramatized - either positive or negative - as inherently romantic.

Head canons are cool, but ascribing intent to creators is when it can get uncomfortable.

I can only imagine how exhausting it must be in this day and age to have to hyper-analyse your own words for fear they’ll be taken out of turn, or to have people try to use an offhand comment as “proof this ship is canon”.

I was talking about this the other day when rewatching Rings of Power. I absolutely love that the show doesn’t shy away from showing close/intense relationships of all kinds with so much nuance and depth—and then online I am reminded of how many fans only see media through “shipping goggles”.
