Rainier Ave has some of Seattle’s highest crash and speeding rates and local youth are organizing about it.

The Rainier Youth Committee is hosting a “Shaping Our Streets” listening session this Saturday on transit reliability and pedestrian safety. Love seeing young people lead on safer streets.

SDOT greenlit a similar project in West Seattle on Friday: SW Lander Street, west of California Avenue.

Yay, glad to see this finally announced publicly! The Burke Gilman is our state’s most popular trail and it should be comfortable, safe, and accessible for all. If it were a highway we would already have widened it. The design next to UW Medical should be the standard (with the addition of lighting)

Last month, Rita Hulsman was honored as a Seattle Kraken Hero of the Deep for her advocacy for safer streets. Through her leadership and the One Roof Foundation, SNG received a $32K Kraken Unity Fund gift to support safer walking, biking, and rolling in Seattle. 💙

HOME ZONE: we updated N Greenwood Ave and N 95th St to make it easier to cross the street and prevent cut-through traffic. This project was funded by the Seattle Transportation Levy, built by SDOT crews, and based on crash data and resident input from the Aurora-Licton Urban Village Home Zone.
