Lower levels of physical activity, combined with inadequate protein intake or malnutrition, may accelerate the onset and progression of sarcopenia in women. 4/6

Sarcopenia in women often coexists with osteoporosis (osteosarcopenia) or obesity/adiposity (sarcopenic obesity/adiposity). These combinations dramatically increase the risks of #fractures, #disability, and diminished quality of life. 3/6
