I'm trying to make myself a cautionary tale wherever I can :D

I basically did that for 2 years straight juggling both development and management. Those are two full-time jobs but sometimes things are time sensitive when running a studio.

In the end I had to close the studio because I had no money and no energy to run it anymore. A lot of mismanagement by me.

Accepting a broken system as unchangeable is so wild to me. Not even believing in incremental change and improvement is so scary.

Seeing someone privileged give up for the sake of "cruel normality" is very disheartening. I hope I can broaden his context of what positive change means and how he can participate. He seems scared of being proactive but his moral construct is intact and I am beginning to see him more.

He has taken the stance that I should not expect things to change. Because "bad things will remain bad". But I think he can only take this stance on the base of privilege. So when I tell him that loss of hope by him for me means accepting my discrimination he gets defensive. And I get it. But damn.

I feel like the ideological struggle with the baby boomer generation is so sad and fascinating. With all that is wrong in the world I try to talk more with my father. He has reached an interesting point in his ideology where he accepts me fully, but discards my hope to change things.
