That clip feels to me he is backing off the F35. Specifically, he knows we need to build at home. The big question is can they possibly shift our F35 investment at Northrup to something else they offer. Horse trade for surveillance aircraft or drones? IDK

I can’t see us getting out of the first order of F35’s, and it’s political suicide to complete that deal without total removal of tariffs, which isn’t happening. We don’t want to operate 2 separate fighters. It’s a pickle above my pay grade

Hey @mark-carney.bsky.social I am a supporter but I need us to go hard on true sustainability. Food production, energy transition, oceans, lakes, forests, all of it. Time to sell it properly…as the greatest economic opportunity of all time. It’s just a bonus it’s also our moral responsibility.

I would like to see a Royal Commission on this that engages across the country, with teeth, not something performative, and move to new system. Also, make sure it’s reviewable every election so minor adjustments can be made as we learn more. We need people engaged.

Besides when we join the Euro defence pact it’s mandatory we set corporate and national carbon reduction limits that mirror Europe and those far exceed what we were doing now or with the carbon tax. Carney knows what he’s doing.

If C5 brings a National EW grid to exploit renewables, increase Nuclear and E coast wind it will do more for carbon reduction than any project in history. No pipeline have been announced and we need mining. EVs needed charging Network first

All I care is who is going to tackle the environment. And I don’t mean talk about it, I mean do all the hard, boring, non spotlight grabbing controversial decisions. The work that is necessary to make huge changes. Things like an east west energy grid, stop pipelines, grow food etc.

So no need to worry about that defence plan quite yet. But if you want to know where it’s going, it will be on cyber, drones, subs and planes, drone planes. Natos new spending formula allows us to include infrastructure like ports, airports and roads, power etc in the 5%. No need to panic.

But if you are against raises for veterans feel free to argue against it.

It’s not hard to verify buddy. It’s not lump sum payments, like all the expenditures the increase in military spend its over a set period of time.

4 Billion of that is pay raises and retention incentives for members that NO one including the NDP and CPC advocated for. Everything else was already a determined spend, the time line was accelerated in order to join the EU defence fund. If that happens then it’s time for your question.
