The unlawful arrest of New York City Comptroller Brad Lander by ICE is a blatant and deeply troubling abuse of power that underscores the agency’s ongoing pattern of overreach and disregard for democratic norms. 🧵

Stringer's career reflects a commitment to progressive values through various policy initiatives aimed at promoting social equity, corporate accountability, and environmental sustainability.

Throughout his tenure, he has championed causes such as affordable housing, public education, and government transparency.

Scott Stringer has long been recognized as a progressive figure in New York City politics, with a career spanning roles as a state assemblyman, Manhattan borough president, and city comptroller.

We cannot protect our communities by aligning with those who have harmed them. And we cannot lead the future if we excuse the past.

Our revised ranked endorsement is as follows:
1. Zohran Mamdani
2. Brad Lander
3. Adrienne Adams
4. Zellnor Myrie
5. Scott Stringer

We must refuse to normalize or reward the kind of misconduct that undermines trust in our institutions and endangers the most vulnerable among us.

This is not about politics. It is about integrity. We cannot defeat Trumpism by mirroring its moral compromise.

Her decision now to endorse the same man she once described as a "remorseless bully who sexually harassed all those women" is a betrayal not just of her own words, but of the values she claimed to represent. Jessica Ramos no longer represents the leadership our moment demands.

Senator Ramos was once a strong and vocal critic of Cuomo. She stood with survivors, she stood with Queens, and she stood for transparency.

At a time when our democracy remains under existential threat from Donald Trump and his allies, we must be the standard-bearers of principled, accountable leadership. That means not only standing up to authoritarianism in Washington but also confronting abuses of power here at home.
