Texas has taken legal action against a New York county clerk who has refused to enforce a TX fine against a NY abortion provider. The dispute will test NY’s β€œshield law,” which protects abortion providers, and may go to the US supreme court.

You don’t see articles like this about moms with three jobs who still manage to take care of their kids.

'Sexual conservatism,' virginity and why Gen Z is having less sex Gen Z is sometimes called a "nation of virgins." In a new book, young people explain why they are having less sex.

Had a lovely chat with @usatoday.com and @nicolefallert.bsky.social about porn, virginity, OnlyFans and how sexual conservatism is recruiting young people. Ya know, your typical Tuesday morning topics

Trump administration to destroy nearly $10m of contraceptives for women overseas As part of president’s shuttering of USAID, destruction of the contraceptives will cost US taxpayers $167,000

β€œIt’s not just about an empty shelf. It’s about unfulfilled potential. It’s about a girl having to drop out of school. It’s about someone having to seek an unsafe abortion and risking their lives.”

Virginia Giuffre, one of Jeffrey Epstein's most prominent abuse survivors, dies by suicide Other Epstein victims credited Giuffre with giving them the courage to speak out.

A reminder that after years of speaking out against Epstein and giving other survivors the courage to come forward, Epstein victim Virginia Giuffre died by suicide in April at the age of 41.

Let's not forget that there are real human tragedies behind everything we're discussing.

Trump administration to destroy nearly $10m of contraceptives for women overseas As part of president’s shuttering of USAID, destruction of the contraceptives will cost US taxpayers $167,000

NEWS from me: The Trump administration has decided to destroy almost $10 million worth of contraceptives rather than send them to women in need overseas. The destruction itself will cost $167,000, the state department told me. www.theguardian.com/us-news/2025...

Sexual assault is one of the major reasons why women end up leaving college. Leaving college makes women less likely to flourish economically and less able to participate in civil society.

So the downstream effect of not enforcing sexual assault law is pushing women out of public life.

An entire chapter of my book is devoted to Title IX and the way that it has already failed survivors of sexual violence and harassment, largely because the DoE doesn’t enforce it.

So I feel very qualified in saying that people are already suffering and this will almost inevitably make it worse.

New York clerk refuses to enforce Texas effort to punish abortion provider Texas suit alleging Dr Margaret Carpenter mailed abortion pills to Lone Star state will likely go to US supreme court

A New York county clerk has again rejected an effort by Texas to fine a New York abortion provider who allegedly mailed pills to Texas. The refusal is based on New York’s shield law, which aims to protect abortion providers who ship pills across state lines.

The clerk is clearly having a good time.

My inescapable conclusion has become that Israel is committing genocide against the Palestinian people. Having grown up in a Zionist home, lived the first half of my life in Israel, served in the I.D.F. as a soldier and officer and spent most of my career researching and writing on war crimes and the Holocaust, this was a painful conclusion to reach, and one that I resisted as long as I could. But I have been teaching classes on genocide for a quarter of a century. I can recognize one when I see one.

In her new book β€˜The Second Coming,’ Carter Sherman speaks with young adults to understand the sex they’re having, or not having, and discovers that Gen Z is not frigid. Some say they prefer the trad life, but most do not; the generation still polls liberal overall.

Texas is a laboratory for anti-abortion policies β€” if something passes there, it tends to get exported to other states.

In other words: If this telehealth abortion ban passes, expect other states to take it up.
