NEW: Jeffrey Epstein cultivated relationships with CBP officers at the airports he frequented.
Epstein emailed and texted with six CBP officers, invited them to his island, visited with them at the airport, and frequently sought to determine who was going to be on duty when he was traveling
Itβs easy to think writing is mainly the transcription of ideas you already haveβthat is, until you try to write something worthwhile, and you find what you thought were saying transform into something far more interesting in the process. This skips that last step, and that is *not* an improvement.

The Ed Dept under Trump has essentially stopped enforcing Title IX in K-12 schools when it comes to sexual harassment and assault cases.
Instead, it put all its focus on using Title IX for policies related to transgender students

My last newsroom once cut 10% of its staff in a day and I felt like I was trapped in an hours-long, massive panic attack with hundreds of other people. I can't imagine what a layoff of this scale feels like.

Also, newsletters work if you are established, either with a following or with years of experience, but usually you need both.
If youβre a journalist who didnβt buy into making yourself an influencer and just wanted to do the work, itβs not viable.

Late last year, the Trump administration charged multiple pro-Palestinian activists with violating FACE.
Technically, FACE can also be used to protect houses of worship. But this was the first time the federal government had ever used it that way.

When Trump won, his administration said it would largely stop enforcing FACE against anti-abortion activists. He pardoned several activists whoβd been convicted under it.
Some of them have since been arrested for trespassing on an abortion clinicβs property. www.theguardian.com/us-news/2025...
Some background: Anti-abortion activists have hated the FACE Act for years. Up until Trump won in 2024, lots of them wanted to repeal it. www.theguardian.com/world/2023/s...
