A reminder that after years of speaking out against Epstein and giving other survivors the courage to come forward, Epstein victim Virginia Giuffre died by suicide in April at the age of 41.
Let's not forget that there are real human tragedies behind everything we're discussing.

Sexual assault is one of the major reasons why women end up leaving college. Leaving college makes women less likely to flourish economically and less able to participate in civil society.
So the downstream effect of not enforcing sexual assault law is pushing women out of public life.
An entire chapter of my book is devoted to Title IX and the way that it has already failed survivors of sexual violence and harassment, largely because the DoE doesnβt enforce it.
So I feel very qualified in saying that people are already suffering and this will almost inevitably make it worse.

A New York county clerk has again rejected an effort by Texas to fine a New York abortion provider who allegedly mailed pills to Texas. The refusal is based on New Yorkβs shield law, which aims to protect abortion providers who ship pills across state lines.
The clerk is clearly having a good time.
My inescapable conclusion has become that Israel is committing genocide against the Palestinian people. Having grown up in a Zionist home, lived the first half of my life in Israel, served in the I.D.F. as a soldier and officer and spent most of my career researching and writing on war crimes and the Holocaust, this was a painful conclusion to reach, and one that I resisted as long as I could. But I have been teaching classes on genocide for a quarter of a century. I can recognize one when I see one.
