With the available removal, I think this is good enough to help clear things from the early game and use our individual removal on larger threats. So pumped to see how the deck evolves now!

This card is exactly what I have been saying needs printed, down to the color, cost, inkability, type, and effect. The only thing I got wrong was characters 3 cost or less (I said all characters). This is actually better for the deck than the card I was suggesting because it doesn't hit Bruno!!

I figured we had gotten everything that could be a contender for the deck already spoiled...then I read this today. Holy cow holy cow holy cow!! They actually did it!

Keep a lookout, as I'm very interested in brewing some on this list as the next couple sets come out. This could be a contender for me if Blurple Top is not in a great place come Indy in June.

In addition to this problem, how do we handle a matchup where the opp is also just removing all of our threats? My mind says Maleficent Dragon, as we get removal with a leftover body, but we don't have the ramp. Will we ever get to 9 ink? Maybe play a couple just for the control mirror?

Problem 2: A Whole New World

This card was fantastic when Lorcana first came out. Draw 7 seems great. The problem is refueling your opp's hand. With new options available, I want to see what is best. Is draw 7 worth it? Does big Powerline support Beyond the Horizon enough? How about Desperate Plan?

Below is what I came up with. It really leans into keeping everything off the board while you chip in with lore from a character or two. The new red action, "Next Stop, Olympus" helps by being repeatable with Maui shark on board. Two problems: are my win conditions enough? Control decks win slowly 🤷‍♂️

I started to think heavily on this, as I'm a control player at heart. What would this list look like? Could it actually be that overpowered? Would it be as simple as, "remove all their characters then win"? I found some Core 🔴⚪ singer lists and got to tinkering.

During rd 2 this past weekend, my opp was talking Infinity format with me and my rd 3 opp. Rd 2 opp focuses strictly on Core Constructed, but is a great player who I respect. He made the comment that he didn't see how Infinity wasn't super busted with 🔴⚪ singer control able to mow everything down.

I easily lost every time an opponent got way ahead of me in board presence, be it from me not having enough removal or losing everything to a board wipe.

Note: Blurple opp played a Dumbo and immediately activated 4 characters. 3-Drop Pan was good from the opposite side of the table. Maybe 4 Dumbo?

I think this is the best version of the deck yet. I don't think the Aurora package is the way to go, but it was better than every other iteration I've tried.

The major downside here is that when the damage is moved, ALL damage counters are moved, no matter how many are needed to remove the character. So, we would need characters who are able to survive a turn after challenging to do so again the next turn.

Overall, very interested to try this one!

As for relying on damage, I think this is something we can (and may have to) adjust for. We could not include the new Jasmine, as she gets rid of the damage we need on the field. We can play into the damage by leaning on cards like 5-drop Elsa, Merlin, & Iago. Mim Fox could be another.

As far as uninkables, this may be something that pushes us to 12 (assuming we play 4) and we have to drop Big Elsa to get there. I'm not sure I'm sold on that, but Cauldron is non-negotiable. I think Dawson is too, as that early selection is huge for us. Maybe 14 uninkables is passable?

Well, here it is. The one I think will likely be the biggest contender for a spot in the list this set. Here are my initial thoughts:

Being singable is huge, as any way to reduce cost can help gain momentum in a game.

Here's another one! I love that this lets us specifically find a character and item (Bruno and Cauldron) but I'm not sure costing 4 will make it helpful to us. I still want to point it out, as it may end up much better than I am assuming.

As more cards get announced, I will continue to update this thread so my thoughts are collected into one place. I may post about other cards generically, but all of my thoughts for cards affecting this deck will be here. So, stay tuned, and let me know what cards you're excited for!

I haven't had a chance to test the Aurora package I put in yet, so I'm not sure about those. Maybe Jasmine proves better? Other cards I'm iffy on include Mad Hatter and Iago. I could see Jasmine taking Iago's 4-drop spot, but she is smaller over all. Would the drop in strength matter long term?

I heard some folks say this card won't be good. The thing that makes it considerable for me is that she removes damage from "each" character, which means herself too. The way she speeds up the clock (Jasmine for 2+Bruno for 3) makes her a strong consideration too. Where does she fit though?

The last card so far is Jasmine - Soothing Princess. I think Jasmine works great with cards like 5-drop Elsa. Use Elsa to challenge, quest with Jasmine, heal Elsa. If they want to get rid of Jasmine, it has to happen quickly. Otherwise, Elsa challenges next turn, Jasmine quests, and heals both.

I think Visions may be better early game, but I'm not sure how it holds up late game without replacing itself. DYB let's us draw a removal card. Visions would put it on top, but relies on something else to actually get the card in our hand. Once again, I'm not sold, but I'll be testing it.

The next card is Hen Wen's Visions. I believe this will fight for the slot Develop Your Brain is currently in. Visions digs more, but DYB actually puts a card in your hand. I have found that DYB is better late game than early due to the psudo card draw.

I heard someone on a podcast state that Belle - Accomplished Mystic is better in Core constructed Blurple, and it has me considering if that would be a better option since we run the Elsas we do. I'm not sure 3 damage is enough in Infinity, so I'll definitely be testing Hades when it comes out.

The first card: Hades - Looking for a Deal. The removal aspect isn't great, but if we draw cards, there's a chance we draw into our other removal, which is singable. I believe in the end, this will be too slow, but may be playable until we get other removal.

Let's talk about cards from Whispers in the Well! When I look at new cards, my first thoughts go towards the Blurple Top list I've spent the last year working on. So, these cards, along with my thoughts, will be geared towards improving that deck in hopes that I can play it at Challenge #3 in Indy

I don't think the right cards have been printed yet. 🟡⚪ can shift 5-drop Queen turn 2, so a blank 3/3 turn 1 just won't cut it. We've got to get more value from Belle, and I think 3 cost songs are where it's at. Maybe removal like Into the Unknown?

Pawp is good on its own, just doesn't fit my list.

My thoughts:
Small Aurora has Ward to protect her while I work towards shifting.

Big Aurora protects my other characters from targeted removal.

Cutting one big Elsa helps trim the deck to 10 un-inkables, upping my chances of avoiding not having ink in hand.

Hoping for that board wipe soon...

Overall, Dumbo seemed to be a bit slow for what I wanted. I also found no need for Yzma, and inked her every time I had her. Knowing these were the trouble/flex spots, and that I struggled with targeted removal, I thought some about previous cards I had considered and will be trying this next.

The deck struggled where I knew it would (aggro and evasives) and fought well against Blue/Steel. Targeted removal was a little too much for me in the last match.

Forgot to post about Lorcana last weekend. Play was Infinity free play, so no structured tournament. I played blue/steel and went 2-0, 2-0, 2-1. 2 of them were on random piles while the other was on red/steel singers.

Still focusing on Blurple Top, just not sure it's in a great spot yet.
