Agree! If the route to a championship was York (h), Ottawa (a), Forge (a) I'd feel way more confident. But playing Cavalry away feels unwinnable

Like I said - this is all devil's advocate for me as I broadly agree. But this feels like exactly the same season as 2023 was (and data wise, it basically is), but the mood in the fan base is polar opposite.

Re. Probo. We'll chat about this over a beer one day, not on here lol. But there were reasons. And they did try to bring a couple of pretty big names in but couldn't make it work.

Re. less attacking/more boring: we've scored more & conceded more than in 2023, which suggests the opposite.

Re. losing a player to a rival: we lost thar player to a USL team because 1/3

Yep. Take Salter & his goals out of Ottawa and where are they? Keeping your best players healthy is so important.

Yep. So weird. He can hold an entire defence together on his own and cares so much about winning. And he definitely wanted to stay with you guys too. I'm so happy he's with us now though.

Why do you think TMG wasn't offered better terms to stay?

4-3-3 was very effective for the first 13 games. It was then found out game 14 - 17. Game 18 changed to 5-4-1 and been hit & miss since then. 2023 was awful for 10 games, fantastic in the middle, inconsistent at the end. Similar season, just in a different order.

Wanderers have scored more than in 2023. They are a win away from the same points. They've won as many games. Won more away games.. etc. etc. Yet the mood feels different, less positive.

Theories on why?
