I do think there is an age element to this - where long trips just don't appeal in quite the same way when you're older. It's also why travel can be so great in a way - in that eveyrone can have a different experience based on what context/experience you bring to it

That situation where you assume policies make sense... until you read them or have someone (try) to explain them in plain english... much the same in my experience with restaurants trying to deal with allergies... some of the responses are just silly.
