We had just watched The Wiz, which has abysmal songs (with the exception of 3-4) - Diana Ross's solos all sucked. And weirdly, although the designs were cool and surreal, the camera work made it hard to get a good look at them, with far, wide angles. So that contrast was in my head, too.

Unexpected, it reminded me that I loved Wizard of Oz as a small child. The setups/details were tight. It was comfortingly inspiring as the father of a tween girl. Style/world visuals were great. Music is phenomenal. Considering it's kinds fanfic, it was really done with love, respect, and talent

I was considering going down a Wizard of Oz rabbit hole (1900 original Wonderful Wizard of Oz is $.30 on Kindle) but then I realized that going down a rabbit hole refers to the wrong story!

In the middle of Bazaar of Bad Dreams. Interestingly, I've read half these stories before for some reason. The Dune is a favorite to retell around the campfire. It's not as good as older comps like Night Shift and Skeleton Crew - those may deserve a reread!

I find that when you focus on a specific thing, you learn that you can "move around" in your own consciousness. You can "visit" the feeling of the ground on your feet, or the sounds of cars outside. Each is different. That's a starting point to transcending reactivity. Make sense?

Which of the policy premises I mentioned do you think most conflicts with what you consider to be Republican values?

What if their values are tighter immigration policy, a more business friendly regulatory regime, and a preference for conservative judges?

I saw those two and wondered isn't this why people left Twitter? It's a small percentage of my Twitter experience and like half of my experience here now!

That tracks with my theory that his earlier work is highly edited and his later is just allowed to meander, which is a shame because the ideas are always there.

I feel like Stephen King is like a jazz musician of horror ideas, just a bunch of riffs that sometimes work and sometimes don't, but a never ending fountain of creative ideas just waiting to be expressed nonetheless

Just finished this one and it was great. It's been a while since I've been absorbed into the world of a book. My current night table pile is good but not absorbing. So I picked up Bazaar of Bad Dreams. First story I already knew, second was eh, haven't given the third a chance yet
