Someone asked me how I made the ice crystals - here's my behind-the-scenes process from #houdini to in-game. With this setup I can produce a completely unique game-ready asset in about 5-10 minutes.

These meshes fracture really well and make for great destructibles.

Check out Frost Nova: a new ability that damages and slows down enemies. If the damage done by frost nova kills an enemy, they are frozen in an Ice Tomb that you can shoot and explode, doing even more damage to nearby enemies.

They pierce AND seek out enemies along their path. I love the little purple trails! You can also see the new "Fan Events" mechanic that gives you mini objectives during combat.

It's more lethal than your dogs' farts!
Poison ticks every second for low damage, but has a 10% chance to spread to nearby enemies. It's the slow death of hordes.

The thing I was mostly unsure about was getting a thousand enemies on screen at once, all pathing and colliding with each other while maintaining 60fps. I did it by using an open source ECS library called Flecs. That was a huge C++ endeavor and required a lot of self-teaching!
