"Maybe the most important thing is to shake off this erroneous notion that life is there and you're just going to live in it versus embrace it, change it, improve it, make your mark upon it.

Once you learn that, you'll never be the same again."

Born during the Dust Bowl, he spoke out on working-class struggles, poverty, migration and social justice. In photos seen for decades, his guitar carried a sticker that read: β€œThis machine kills fascists.”

Reflecting a belief that art can challenge harmful ideologies and empower ordinary people.

Oct. 3, 1967, American singer, songwriter Woody Guthrie died from Huntington's Chorea, an hereditary disease.

He wrote 100s of songs, but his best-known is 'This Land Is Your Land,' which is regularly sung in American schools and has become the unofficial anthem of American democracy and protest.

I found that the church is still standing tall. This is the current view from roughly the same POV via Google Maps.

Fascinating that the prominent telephone pole in the B&W photo (an assumption it's not power) has been replaced in the 21st century with a 5G tower.

Almost in the exact same spot!

Cliff Palace was inhabited by Ancestral Puebloans, once called β€œAnasazi,” a term now outdated.

They lived in the Mesa Verde region from around 600 to the late 1200s CE, creating homes and ceremonial spaces that showed a complex society and deep connection to the landscape. (Denver Public Library)

That evening, President Kennedy addressed the nation, framing civil rights as a moral issue:

"The heart of the question is whether all Americans are to be afforded equal rights and equal opportunities, whether we are going to treat our fellow Americans as we want to be treated."

The tech and ease of use are concerns, but look at the revisionist history regarding Pete Rose. *ducks* You're right; it doesn't seem like anyone cares.

...oh there is…

Hold the Wake and either of the volume buttons simultaneously, and you'll see this screen. Hit cancel.

Cheers to the sci-fi thinkers, the creatives with vast ideas that will travel further than their bodies ever could.

In 1980, Isaac Asimov, chatting with late-night TV host David Letterman, predicted that everyone would have their own TV channel.

He wasn't far off.
