Yes. This pastor and any pastor who has been openly talking bad about women and the LGBTQ community needs to stray away from my timeline and it's worrisome that Kegsbreath had him pray over our troops.

Instead of focusing resources to ensure Americans have access to healthcare, housing, jobs, safety and security in their own communities, this President has chosen a war overseas at the expense of everyone back home.

I wonder if other methods of prompting persons to seek care might be money better spent than drug ads? Like universal healthcare? For myself, all I hear in their ads are horrifying side effects that deter me from seeking care.

Ottawa unsure how to regulate AI chatbots after Tumbler Ridge report, as Solomon says 'all options are on the table Aย recent bombshellย reportย revealed OpenAI internally flagged and banned the shooter's profile on the startupโ€™s chatbot, ChatGPT, months ago, but elected not to inform legal authorities in Canada.

In class this week, we discussed US foreign policy tools. The US has used most of them in Iran over the years: covert regime change (1953), endless sanctions through the UN, SWIFT, etc, diplomacy (JCPOA), targeted strikes, and now a military campaign for regime change. This is the riskiest. 6/

More Mainers writing opinion pieces for @pressherald.com in opposition to Susan Collins' support for the SAVE Act.

Mainers resoundingly VOTED NO on 1 in Nov, rejecting attempts to restrict voting. Collins' support for the SAVE Act flies in the face of all Mainers who already said NO.

It is sickening to think about what might happen next. Thinking of the people in the path of this folly, and of the people of Ukraine, who could have really used those munitions in year 5 of their brave resistance to Russian aggression. 9/9

In order to aid the President in executing this constitutional duty, executive branch lawyers and other U.S. officials need to speak โ€œlaw to powerโ€ to the President on this front. Given the current administrationโ€™s appetite for legal risk and the Presidentโ€™s seeming indifference to international law (perhaps most manifest in his articulation of expansionist aims vis-ร -vis Greenland and the Panama Canal), those lawyers will struggle to be heard. Nevertheless, this is their function in any administration, and it is important not to lose sight of that amid the often chaotic news emerging from the executive branch. Ideally this would mean more than merely providing candid advice when asked or attempting to provide a legal justification after the fact. Presidential decision-making on such matters cannot simply be treated as the โ€œweatherโ€โ€”something beyond human influence. Instead, it will likely require the Presidentโ€™s most senior advisors such as the Secretary of State, National Security Advisor, and White House Counsel to proactively intervene to explain to the President why the United States negotiated and agreed to be bound by the UN Charterโ€”and the potential consequences of violating that treaty. (In addition, of course, to explaining the need for congressional authorization.)

As I wrote last summer, thereโ€™s a need for proactive executive branch lawyering.
