My fourth day at #CCS2025 starts in the physics of self-organization satellite, where @cgershen.bsky.social discussed a balance-based narrative to explain complex systems science to the general public. He gave us a historical overview on the topic and then a formalization of his ideas.

We show that the nature of datasets imposes inherent limits on artificial intelligence and machine learning.

This suggests that the evolution of higher complexity in the universe should be expected, since new levels of organization emerge as quantity becomes quality

With an extremely simple mathematical model, we show that, even when probabilities of having "cooperative/symbiotic/catalytic/beneficial" interactions are ridiculously low, communities of mutualistic agents eventually emerge.
