Watch any 3 episodes from a "Best of" list from 3 different series, decide which one has the most interesting characters, and do that series first.

5. Love it or hate it, "Move Along Home" is one of DS9's most important episodes. It was the first time we saw Quark give a damn about someone besides himself to the point where he gets on his knees to beg--BEG--for their lives. He surely would have evolved eventually, but this early step was huge.

4a. Just to complete this thought: Can you imagine if we had dozens of episodes like "The Naked Now" that rehashed plots and characters from TOS? Would there still have been room for "Measure of a Man" or the Borg in seasons choc full of nostalgia bait?

4. Writers of the early TNG seasons were upset management wouldn't allow overt TOS references. I think this was mostly wise. It forced TNG to set its own stake in the Trek universe. By the time they finally were allowed to do stuff like the Sarek episode, TNG had a solid identity of its own.

3. Speaking of Elnor, he's hands-down the best character in ST Picard. A Romulan who wants to be like a Vulcan, fights with a sword in a galaxy full of phasers, and is abundantly curious, awed and excited over new experiences? Adorable. My friends called him Space Kenshin.

2. Tasha Yar, Kes, Travis Mayweather, Hoshi Sato, the Discovery bridge crew, and Elnor all deserved more to do in their respective shows and opportunities for us to get to know them beyond their professional functions.

Star Trek is usually best when it tackles smaller problems exclusive of whatever galactic-level thing is going on. A series format gives room for smaller stories that can dive into a single issue or character.

So, I don't care how long it'll take them to make another movie. More TV, please!
