06.03.2026 22:00 â ð 1 ð 0 ðŽ 0 ð 0It's no good, my wife has a hard science PhD.
06.03.2026 21:56 â ð 1 ð 0 ðŽ 1 ð 0I don't think you're allowed to be a professor without a recumbent bike right?
04.03.2026 11:55 â ð 4 ð 0 ðŽ 0 ð 0The engineer there dipped a finger in the cooling goo and had a taste to show off... that'll stick with me next time I watch that movie.
24.02.2026 23:21 â ð 0 ð 0 ðŽ 0 ð 0And as a slight aside, have you seen how DUG do data centre cooling? That one gave me a real crisis when I visited their office in Perth...
24.02.2026 12:09 â ð 0 ð 0 ðŽ 1 ð 0ðŽ That sounds about right. There's plenty of water waste around in ag and so on for them to solve a small piece of it and say "it's all fungible, so we're zero water use now".
24.02.2026 12:03 â ð 0 ð 0 ðŽ 2 ð 0Drivers okay I wonder? I have a perfectly fine old laser printer but PITA to get it running on windows 10.
19.02.2026 06:46 â ð 0 ð 0 ðŽ 0 ð 0Hang on, I've tinkered in big compute... that really doesn't have to be true I think. Many compute loads are flexible, and could be throttled or redistributed cheaply.
16.02.2026 21:31 â ð 0 ð 0 ðŽ 0 ð 0Had a similar enraging experience with my super "5 years ago, sorry no paperwork"... Robotdebt, MFers!
15.02.2026 22:13 â ð 1 ð 0 ðŽ 0 ð 0Up there with the slack founder who just wanted to do gardening...
13.02.2026 00:52 â ð 1 ð 0 ðŽ 0 ð 1Going straight to my slack emojis âĨïļ
12.02.2026 21:08 â ð 1 ð 0 ðŽ 0 ð 0This was close ... en.wikipedia.org/wiki/YikeBike
09.02.2026 23:41 â ð 0 ð 0 ðŽ 0 ð 0Saw Pauline in the security queue and five fossil fuel ads at the airport... that wouldn't happen on the train.

I think people often wonder this, and it's a great question, so let me explain the advantages of 3D printing whistles. There are many.
The 3D printing effort started from one of our organizers who started by sourcing mass-produced whistles.
There's a salvage yard near me with all kinds of weird glazing left over from commercial projects... would love to do something like this.

We're paying like $0.15/W for resi scale orders.
How much do you pay in $/W by the pallet load, out of curiosity?
29.01.2026 09:07 â ð 1 ð 0 ðŽ 1 ð 0I was tempted to do one of the courses out of morbid curiosity... Thank goodness I dodged that, pretty much what I expected.
28.01.2026 21:59 â ð 0 ð 0 ðŽ 0 ð 0I'll gladly take a modern sleeper train and not have to wait until I'm at retirement age...

I have to fly to Canberra next week for work and the whole process is so incredibly miserable.
Dreaming of a world where travel is relaxed, low carbon and fun.
Imagine if Australia had electric interstate trains with these...
27.01.2026 09:01 â ð 7 ð 1 ðŽ 1 ð 0Wow, that's real living-in-the-future type stuff!
27.01.2026 08:55 â ð 0 ð 0 ðŽ 0 ð 0Oof. Well, I've seen some attempts with Bunnings shade canopies etc. but not ideal
25.01.2026 02:33 â ð 0 ð 0 ðŽ 0 ð 0I wouldn't put them on a north or west wall with no shade, but it's pretty usual otherwise.
25.01.2026 01:29 â ð 0 ð 0 ðŽ 1 ð 0A new 40kWh battery can be had for that price now ðŽðŽðŽ
25.01.2026 01:10 â ð 0 ð 0 ðŽ 1 ð 0You might be surprised... The energy use from blower fans and air leakage on ducted gas can be so shit that you'll end up ahead.
24.01.2026 23:14 â ð 2 ð 0 ðŽ 1 ð 0I'm looking at Sigenergy V2X module which will get you 12/25kW... But gotta keep asking myself, what would I do with it?! I can't export more than 5kW anyway. Maybe if you wanted the fast charging to dump a bunch of solar into the car quickly if you're not home as much.
