Second box up today for the Biodiversity in Melton project! At this rate the owls will need a waiting list. Huge thanks to Melton for working with us โ€” fingers crossed for a very successful season and some feathery new tenants soon ๐Ÿฆ‰โœจ @suffolkbirdgroup.bsky.social

Enjoyed a very pleasant @suffolkbirdgroup.bsky.social boat trip on the River Ore and Butley River on Sunday, was interesting to observe a good number of waders from the boat. Also before the trip I managed to see the North Warren shrike which was showing very well #Suffolkbirding

Two reddish coloured birds in an oak tree.

@suffolkbirdgroup.bsky.social After watching the r-t shrike I walked onto the heath and down into the woods. A group of 12 crossbills were very vocal, looked like some juveniles mixed in with at least 3 bright red males.

1/2. My last 3 birding trips have been unsuccessful. The Lark in Snettisham twice last week & this morning the R-T Shrike did a bunk as well. Saw large numbers of Barnacle Geese arriving, heard a Woodlark & this Dartford Warbler was bird #259 of year. #birds #ukbirding @suffolkbirdgroup.bsky.social
