Very niche Denver post, but we have tickets to the MLK rodeo at the stock show, and I’m honestly going to be a little disappointed if Bruce Brown isn’t there, too.

We don’t have Peacock, so aren’t watching the Nuggets game. But dang, it apparently wasn’t a good night to miss watching our JV and C team step up! (She says while anxiously refreshing the score with three minutes left.)

I’m really enjoying watching the Nuggets JV squad play this game.

I was in my late 20s when The OC was on the air, and it ended a year before I had my first kid. Now I’m rewatching it with my teenagers, and the way I relate to Kirsten Cohen is absolutely unreal.

Unpopular opinion: As a liberal, white, Gen X woman (yes, I know we can be problematic) who is not a Swiftie, but has a kid who is, if you believe that she or Travis are MAGA, you simply are jumping on a bandwagon and have done zero research.

It was SO MUCH FUN and SO STRESSFUL! Haha! My son is still sleeping. My daughter, however, is up on vibes and adrenaline after coming home and watching the new Stranger Things episodes. Lollllll.

Going to the game was my son’s main Xmas present, and it was absolute insanity!

Y’all. I’m watching the Nuggets game with my son, and we kept yapping about where @deandre is, until my overwhelmed brain realized that, yes, we’re playing the Jazz, but they live in Utah and not New Orleans. 😂😭 We’ve had a lot of recent loss. We’re tired. But NOLA has so much more jazz than Utah!

Started my 9 day Thanksgiving break by getting up early on a Saturday to be in a high school gym by 8:30am to watch my kid in scrimmages. Living the dream! Or at least living my kid’s dream!

I always liked Collin when he was a Nugget, and I’m so happy for him to be on a team where he can shine!

Ok, but if we’re talking about basic boxed pasta, I’ve found GF Barilla to be just fine. Also, Walmart is terrible, but they are actually really solid for GF choices, particularly bread and all-purpose flour.

Just when I thought today couldn’t get any more bizarre in DC…

She’s off of her phone more, doing more chores, and getting outside. Oh, and she’s also caught up on all of her schoolwork and no longer paralyzed with overwhelm and anxiety. My only regret is waiting so long to get a dx because she was doing “ok” for so long, until she wasn’t.

A couple of weeks ago, my mom said that she doesn’t think my 17yo recently diagnosed ADHD kid has ADHD and just needs to get off her phone, do more chores, and go outside. We seem to have finally found a med winner with Adderall, and guess what:

CSU seems so great! But she’s pursuing nursing, and they don’t have that, so our options are a bit narrowed. But everyone I know who chose CSU has loved it!

Niche post, but as my daughter is navigating college choices, I am highly impressed by the communication and efficiency of the University of Northern Colorado and Colorado Mesa University. Also, any and all prayers and good vibes regarding scholarships and financial aid are currently being accepted!

I love and miss him so much!

My boy has decided to transfer to a different high school, for thoughtful reasons of his own, and I am reminding myself that I want my kids to follow their gut, and that I hope the incredible relationships we’ve built in our current school community aren’t conditional.

Life is so full of transition lately. My girl has had the college acceptances rolling in, and it’s exciting, and I also wish that she didn’t have to make her choice based primarily on cost. It’s also hitting me that she will be flown in a year.

Back in our happy place at Ball Arena tonight. The discounts on MPJ jerseys are deeeeep!

But! Manually googling is one of my greatest pleasures in life. Especially when drinking.

Yesterday, my son turned 15. His 17yo sister got him Lakers/Nuggets tickets for his bday, and I love that I have kids who see and know each other to the point that she got him his best gift ever, as a kid who always roots for the Nuggets, but keeps LeBron as his GOAT.

As someone who love both justice-involved youth and the Nuggets, this is my favorite story of the week.

Today kicked off free Common App days in CO. My girl applied to 11 colleges! But while she will likely stay within driving distance, the look on her brother’s face when she confirmed that she did, indeed, also apply to the U of AK Fairbanks was priceless. I think he’s going to miss her next year.

My kiddos had their first (kid #2) and last (kid #1) HS homecomings, and I had four bonus HS seniors sleepover at our home afterwards and I got to make them a big breakfast and catch up on the gossip. It was so much fun.

My 17yo is at the iconic Red Rocks on a rainy weeknight for a concert with her besties, and despite the fact that (while
I love RR and live shows!) a rainy and cold weeknight outdoor concert is my personal purgatory, I am so happy for her to have this rite of passage.

Look, all I know is that I took Tylenol when I was pregnant, my kids were vaccinated, and neither of them have autism. My maternal grandparents were both born Amish, and I’m fairly certain my mom, aunt, brother, and nephew are all on the autism spectrum to some degree. And they’re all magical!
