I'm sewing scraps together bc I have a storyboard due EOD that I've been having trouble with and apparently I'm handling the stress by doing something almost mindless but with visible results ahaha

Really don't know what I'll do with these. Maybe i will just make a couple and sew them together into a mask pouch, like I mentioned last night.

The issue with this being completely improvisational is that some edge pieces really just got almost completely chopped off when cut to size. That's okay though. This is more meditative than meant to be perfect and planned out. Starting another lol

i can tell i'm manic right now bc instead of sleeping I've just been sewing together tiny scraps of leftover quilting cotton in a daze for no actual reason. Just reaching into the scrap bag and attaching pieces. I should go to bed. I feel insane.

thanks for the encouragement! My younger brother quilts and it's made me want to try but i've been so nervous haha Maybe I should just jump in and see how this goes

Happy Bday to my late animation mentor, Kathleen, who died a few years ago. I still miss her. Every time I get to do smth cool for work, my first thought is "I should tell Kathleen" and then I remember. Lady believed in me more than I did. Rest well, Kathleen, hope you'd be proud of me still.

Considering getting a walking foot and making my friend's new baby a simple baby blanket-sized quilt. I've never made a quilt before, so I'm anxious, but...idk. it feels like a nice thing to do.

So distracted at work after being super productive last week... ended up making a patchwork tissue holder out of scraps from a random grab bag of quiltting cotton i found a few months ago, bc i needed one in the office

i got so much old fabric scraps from making christmas presents and masks over the years... maybe this year I should just get really into making patchwork bullshit haha

Partner is a bit of a hypochondriac. They have transferred that into their care for Jarvis. Which, on the one hand, it's great that they care so much about the dog. On the other, they act like Jarvis must be sick and dying when he sleeps in on a cold, gloomy day. It drives me nuts.

His sides are going bald bc partner stopped giving him his alopecia meds bc they read somewhere on the internet that long term use of melatonin can cause heart problems and I just told them to ask the vet, they did, vet told them it was fine, they still refuse to give Jarvis his medication. Arggghhh

Sister got locked out her apartment and I got to actually use my Spanish to talk to the handyman. Unfortunately he also lost his front door key............

I stopped speaking Spanish bc I stopped leaving the house ahahahaha but it looks like I actually remember it for the most part

Truth is that it tastes like bitter medicine and it sticks in your mouth for a while after using it, which sucks, but when he said 'it tastes bad' i imagined something way worse. I hate how anxious that had made me anyway

have to use some antimicrobial mouthwash from the dentist and when he was explaining how to use it he was like "Don't rinse your mouth out with water after you use this. So, it's gonna taste bad." so I've been a bit psyched out about using it ahaha the bottle also basically says "it'll taste bad"
