I think that's also how I learned about transubstantiation and that my Catholic friends were being told at church they were literally eating the body of Christ. That was too much for me.
I found Buddhism and Jainism to be the most logical and plausible. Got really into Buddhism for a bit.
In 9th grade history, we got packets about world religions: Christianity, Islam, Judaism, Hinduism, Buddhism, and Jainism. I knew that socially, in my like 80% catholic town, we were "supposed to" think all them except Christianity were absurd. But I found that one the most absurd of them all.

"There is a natural way to be (thin & cis), and if you're not, it must be bc society FORCED you"
Meanwhile society is literally constantly punishing people who aren't thin and cis, the call is coming from inside the house, etc.
Gimme an address, I just want to talk πͺ
For real, this is how my mom gave me and eating disorder and body dysmorphia, by talking shit about her own body, which I always saw as beautiful, bc she was fat. INTERNALIZED FATPHOBIA DOES NOT JUST HURT THE PERSON WITH IT, IT HURTS EVERYONE!!!
Btw, if you have never heard of Mary Chapin Carpenter, I consider "He Thinks He'll Keep Her" a feminist anthem.
Honestly, now that I think of it, "I Feel Lucky" is too. I mean, how many women implied in song that they were fantasizing about a threesome with 2 men in the early 90s??
This is a wild but delightful combination of an artist I was listening to before I could read chapter books and an artist I started listening to last year in my late 30s??? WILD. What even is time.

Yeah, I also remember when we went to MA you forgot to get your meds at home and couldn't get them there bc it was a NY Rx.
The number of people who just accept this shit bc they're not disabled is truly insane and fucks the rest of us.

"Fun" fact! In the US, judicial precedent (cf. Castle Rock v. Gonzales) is that police are not responsible for preventing crime, including murder, that is clearly imminent! They don't legally have to help you until you (or your children) are dead!
I hope Australia doesn't follow suit.
J. Rolf Haltza O @RolfHaltza It's wild how we absolve the 9-to-5 of all guilt. The damage is systematically rebranded as your personal failing. Got fat? It's not that jobs require 10 hours at a desk, it's your "sedentary lifestyle". Ruined eyes? It's not the workflow, it's your "screen time". Feel empty? It's not the grind, it's just "adulthood". The job causes the problem, but you take the blame. The 9-to-5 is treated as some unchangeable default of nature we all must bow to.
This is why you should never say the words self care to me. The rage I feel lol.
